Landscape Talk - Ben Brace

On Monday 19th October we were joined by Ben Brace for the second Landscape Talk for 2020-21. As usual the recording of the Teams event is available to our students as part of our Video On Demand service.

Ben studied BSc (Hons) Landscape and Garden Design at Writtle and graduated in 2007. In his presentation he gave us a facinating insight into his career in landscape so far; where it all began, the route his profession has taken him over the years, and his current role as Horticultural Project Manager at the RHS.

Our next Landscape Talk will be on Monday 2nd November and will feature Thea Behrman, Senior Project Manager at Metal, who will be talking about the Estuary 2020 festival.

Landscape Talk - Paul Todd and Carl McClean

On Monday 5th October we held our first Landscape Talk for 2020-21. We've redesigned the lecture series as an online seminar format via Teams, and as before we're recording the talks for our students to have access to later.

For this first Landscape Talk, we hosted Director Paul Todd and landscape architect Carl McClean (a WUC graduate) from 'Keep Britain Tidy'.

Paul explained the successful Green Flag Award scheme and its importance in providing high quality, inclusive and safely accessible green outdoor spaces in our cities and towns.

Carl further explained the international success of the scheme as a model for empowering parks for the 21st Century globally through supporting education, interpretation, and social motivation for communities.

Our next talk will take place on Monday 19th October, 12:00-13:00 (UTC+1) and will feature WUC alumnus Ben Brace, Horticultural Project Manager at the RHS.
